History of Camden Trades Council

There were several forerunners of Camden Trades Council. Including St Pancras Trades Council and Holborn Trades Council.

St Pancras Trades Council was established in 1907 when a Mr H. Cheetham, the Honourable Secretary of Camden Town Branch National Amalgamated Union Shop Assistants wrote to the St Pancras Chronicle requesting that other Trades Societies of St Pancras contact him “with a view on the advisability of forming a local Council”.

During the General Strike, 4 – 12 May 1926 the Trades Council published a daily bulletin. Below are copies of the bulletin.
