Linda Reinstein at the Asbestos Diseases Awareness Organisation has drawn our attention to the following World Health Organisation social media campaign aimed at Twitter users. The full details are in the above blog and the 6 tweets say:

‏@WHO The most efficient way to eliminate asbestos-related diseases is to stop the use of all types of asbestos.

@WHO In some countries, asbestos is still used for insulation in buildings, in a number of products incl. water supply lines.

‏@WHO As a result of increasing health concerns, the use of asbestos has declined in many countries.

‏@WHO All forms of asbestos are carcinogenic to humans and may cause lung, laryngeal and ovarian cancer.

‏@WHO Every year, several thousand deaths can be attributed to exposure to asbestos in the home.
