Uniting workers and communities in the London Borough of Camden
Met Police staff play a vital role in making London one of the safest cities in the world.
They provide a frontline service to the public answering 999 and 101 calls, patrolling the streets as PCSOs, supporting victims of crime and dealing with offenders in custody. They also provide professional and administrative support across every area of the police service.
After three years of frozen pay, they’re now faced with a real-terms pay cut imposed on them by the employer.
All staff are asking for is fair pay so that they can afford to meet basic costs such as food and fuel bills this winter, or ever rising London travel costs.
What staff are asking for will not cost Londoners a penny. Last year alone the Met Police made a £50m+ saving on the police staff budget.
Sign our petition and tell Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, Metropolitan Police Service Commissioner, to give Met Police staff fair pay
We the undersigned urge the Metropolitan Police Service to make an improved pay offer to all your police staff.
The imposition of a 1% pay award represents a pay cut in real terms and comes after a three year pay freeze that has already seen your staff struggling to cope with the rising costs of living. The increase will not cost Londoners a penny – last year alone the MPS made a £50m+ saving on the police staff budget and can afford to make an improved pay offer.
We urge you to ensure that your hard-working and loyal police staff, who play a vital role in making London one of the world’s safest cities, are given the fair pay they deserve.
