Thursday 10 July: Day of Public Sector Strike Action and March

In Camden Thursday 10 July: Day of Public Sector StrikeAction: Tens of thousands of workers across London will strike over a range of distinct but related attacks on pay, pensions and working conditions. FBU members in the fire brigade, teachers in the NUT, RMT members at Transport for London (not the Tube) and local government workers in the GMB, Unite and UNISON in local councils will all be part of the action. In Camden almost all primary schools will be completely closed. Picket lines are planned for several secondary schools across the borough, while UNISON picket lines will appear outside the Town Hall and other key Council workplaces from 7.00 AM. A fire engine, purchased by the FBU, will be touring Camden, then providing the stage for a brief local rally outside Camden Town Hall (Judd Street, WC1) from 10.30 – 10.45 AM, with many proceeding to a central London event.

Joint union march & rally for Fair Pay, Fair Pensions and Fair Workloads: Assemble at 11:30am, BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place, W1A 1AA. March from 12 noon to rally in Trafalgar Square from 1–2pm.
