CAMDEN TRADES COUNCIL ‘Uniting Workers & Communities’ Meeting
The monthly Delegate Meeting of the Trades Council will be held
at 6pm on Thursday 19 September in Committee Room 4, First Floor, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, WC1H 9JE (Nearest tube: Kings Cross).
Business will be concluded by 7pm to be followed by a roundtable discussion open to members of all branches introduced by speakers from three unions central involved in fighting cuts and privatisation including Garry Watt (CWU London NW Counter & Clerical) on the battle to save Crown Post Offices including Swiss Cottage, Anna Owens (PCS Branch Secretary, HMRC Euston Tower) on the fight to defend tax offices and Paul Embery (FBU London Regional Secretary) on opposing fire station closures and job cuts. Others are invited to contribute to discussion on building solidarity and moving towards joint action.
Transport Information from Camden to the National Demonstration outside Tory Party conference in Manchester, 29 September:
- Camden UNISON & Trades Council coach: This coach with 49 seats will depart c 7.00 AM from the Eversholt Street side of Euston station; departing Manchester between 16.00 and 16.30 PM. - UNISON train: Train for UNISON members and immediate family from across Greater London with individual branches responsible for booking through the regional office. This train is due to depart from Euston c 8.30 and is expected to return to London c 19.00. UNISON members should contact Cally Thompson at the London regional office (c.thompsons@unison.co.uk)
