COUNTERS’ STRIKE: MONDAY AFTERNOON 29.4.13 HELP NEEDED
URGENT REQUEST
As you may know, C.W.U. members in the 373 Crown Offices across the U.K. will be taking a further half day’s strike action next Monday afternoon 29th April (from 1.00 p.m. until end of duty), in defence of our pay, jobs and public services.
Across the U.K., we are attempting to organise protests outside as many as possible of the 70 Branch Offices listed for franchising, plus the 6 which will be lost to “mergers” (2 into 1).
There are 4 B.O.s in London North Western C & C Branch on the franchising list:
2 in CSCSM Area 12: Great Greenford and Swiss Cottage; and 2 in CSCM Area 11: Eastcote and Potters Bar.
East Finchley B.O. is in CSCSM Area 12, but in North/ North West London C.W.U. Branch.
Monday, 29th April, in CSCSM Area 12:
We are trying to organise campaign stalls outside East Finchley, Great Greenford and Swiss Cottage between 1.00 and 3.00 p.m. approx.
I am prepared to attend at East Finchley and Huw at Great Greenford.
We are requesting further support at Swiss Cottage (unless it is easier for you to join Huw or myself?)
I t is expected that staff members in the 3 B.O.s will be attending the protests; however, they would understandably appreciate some additional C.W.U. support.
The tables plus all the campaign materials are still inside the 3 Branches (C.W.U. H.Q. sent 1,000 more public leaflets to every B.O. for distribution last week).
Would you please kindly let me know as a matter of urgency whether you will be available to attend and support a campaign outside Swiss Cottage on Monday, 29th April (or anywhere selse)?
Further strike action is planned; however, it is important to keep the issue of franchising high on the public agenda.
