NHS Day of Protest/Article by patients
There will be a protests at UCH (Euston Road entrance) from 12.45 to 1.45 PM and at the Whittington Hospital (Magdala Avenue, N19, near the Archway) from 12 noon to 2.00 PM. The Camden UNISON banner will be at the UCH event.
The article below will appear in the print edition of The Guardian to coincide with the day of protest action in the NHS over pay restraint and substantial real terms cuts. It’s by the journalist Mike Marqusee, who himself suffers from multiple myeloma (a form of bone cancer), and explains why patients should be encouraging NHS staff to take action:
